Benefits of data centers in the long run

Digital infrastructure behind the services we depend on

Data centers support everyday activities and essential services, while creating opportunities for local investment.

Everyday digital services

From online classes and video calls to shopping and banking, data centers help keep people connected to the information and services they use.

Revenue for public services

Data centers generate tax revenue and impact fees that help support local programs and services, including public safety, libraries, parks and affordable housing. The City of San José estimates that an individual data center can contribute between $3.4 million to $6.8 million annually to its General Fund.

Jobs and business opportunities

Development creates construction work and demand for suppliers. Ongoing operations support technical, maintenance and facility service roles.

Investment in infrastructure

Data center development fund and support utility and site improvements. At Silver Creek, the proposal includes investment in power infrastructure, grid reliability and road improvements.

Community

Understanding what this project could mean for your neighborhood matters. Community engagement opportunities include open houses, neighborhood meetings, and public hearings. This website will continue to be updated as more details become available.
